Shakespeare in Action: Macbeth
6 week course
Many students find Shakespeare difficult because they only ever meet him on the page. In these sessions, we bring Macbeth to life using techniques developed by the Royal Shakespeare Company. Rather than sitting and being told what the play means, students explore it in the same way actors and directors do: speaking the words aloud, stepping into the shoes of the characters, debating key decisions and exploring different interpretations of important scenes.
By getting Shakespeare off the page and into the room, students develop a deeper understanding of the language, characters, themes and quotations that underpin GCSE success. Along the way they build confidence, strengthen their analytical thinking and learn how to support their ideas with evidence from the text. Most importantly, they discover that Shakespeare isn't a confusing puzzle designed to catch them out, but a gripping piece of theatre full of big ideas, powerful characters and questions that still matter today.

Through games, role-play and plenty of creativity, you’ll explore what it feels like to step into someone else’s shoes, make bold choices and bring a character to life.
You don’t need any drama experience and there’s no pressure to perform — just come as you are, get stuck in and see where your imagination takes you.

Find your VOICE
Find Your Voice is about singing, listening, experimenting and discovering what your voice can do.
We'll play with vocal techniques, learn new songs and explore harmony - then mix things up to create our own arrangements, our own sound and our own performance.
You'll build vocal skills and confidence while learning how to listen and work as part of a group. There'll be space to experiment, make some noise, try things out and probably hit the occasional questionable note.
You don't need to think of yourself as a singer. There are no perfect voices here - just different ones.

Find Your Stage takes things up a gear. We’ll bring together voice, dance and performance to explore what makes musical theatre come alive.
Working as an ensemble, we’ll learn a musical theatre number and explore the skills that turn a song into a performance — choreography, character, storytelling, expression and, yes, singing and moving at the same time!
We’ll break down the movement, play with how we use the space and discover how our voices, bodies and energy can work together to tell a story.
You’ll develop dance technique, vocal skills, musicality, stage presence and ensemble performance, with plenty of space to experiment, make bold choices and find your own way of performing.
You don’t need to be the strongest singer or the best dancer in the room. This is about learning how all the different pieces fit together — and what happens when a group really starts to perform as one.

Drama through DANCE
What happens when you tell a story without saying a word?
Drama Through Dance is all about using movement to create characters, explore emotions and bring stories to life. We'll take inspiration from musical theatre, stage, film and storytelling and then move it, change it, play with it and make it our own.
Because dance isn't just about learning the steps. It's about what those steps can say.
Through dance, drama, improvisation and plenty of creative experimentation, we'll explore how a character moves, what they're feeling, how they connect with other people and how we can take an audience on a journey.
One minute we might be creating a huge, joyful musical number. The next, we'll be discovering how the smallest movement can completely change a moment.
You'll get the chance to create, experiment, perform, collaborate and develop your own ideas while building confidence, stage presence, storytelling and performance skills along the way.
